Violeta exists, the musical film of the year, will have a free screening on Wednesday, December 14 at 9:00 pm at Plaza Yungay. Winner as Best National Documentary at In-Edit 2021, the film directed by Rodrigo Avilés and produced by Manuel Lagos and Rodrigo Avilés, records the process in which Ángel and Javiera Parra dare, 50 years later, to interpret and record Violeta Parra’s Last Compositions. -The best Chilean album of all time, recorded by her grandmother in 1966, days before she took her own life, and which remains to this day captured by the effects of the dictatorship.
They are accompanied by great artists and the guidance of his father Angel Parra, whose cancer is progressing rapidly. But it is too complex and painful to dive into Violeta’s work and her story. Running to meet their grandmother, the brothers bid farewell to their father.
