FICWALLMAPU is carried out in alliance with academic, social and Mapuche organizations, promoting intercultural dialogue as a political process in Wallmapu and in the international network. Every year it summons filmmakers with indigenous topics. In addition to this main event in Temuco, it develops annual activities in different regions, where the distribution and training of cinema and indigenous communication enhance cinematographic production.
Jeannette Paillan. Filmmaker, Jeannette Paillan begins her connection with the audiovisual field as a journalism student. Master’s in film direction in Madrid, Spain, through the Ford grant (2006-2008). Specialization in documentary film at EICTV and Cine Indigena- Bolivia. She received the Clacpi Communication Award (2004), Premio a la comunicación solidaria -CIC BATA- from the Town Council of Cordoba, Spain (2008). Bartolomé de las Casas Award -Secretariat of State for International Cooperation of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and for Casa de América 2013. Among her productions stand out the documentaries Punalka. El alto Bío-Bío (1995), Wallmapu (2002), Rayen and Perimontun (2008). In 2008 she was appointed general coordinator of CLACPI, ratified in her post for three consecutive terms until 2015. Special jury prize for the “Best historical research» of the International Human Rights Festival in Argentina. Documentary Award at the Primer Festival de las Naciones Originarias- Abya Yala- Ecuador. Honorable Mention Rescuing cultural identity of the national memory at the Valdivia International Film Festival. Under the Documentary category she got the *Ramsar Award» for Best Documentary at V Festival Ecofilms. 2005 Special Mention of the Jury, Festival Tre Continenti di Milano. 2005 Best Cinematography, Valparaiso Film Festival. 2005.
