FIDOCS, the Santiago International Documentary Film Festival, seeks to promote dialogue, reflection and create audiences around documentary cinema in a broad sense, in permanent transformation, exploring the various paths of documentary cinema. In its programming it incorporates the works of veteran and emerging filmmakers, and addresses the question of ‘what is real’ from multiple dimensions, stressing gender and disciplinary boundaries. FIDOCS has positioned itself as one of the most prominent documentary film festivals in Latin America.
Antonia Girardi. Has a degree in Aesthetics and Masters in Latin American Cultural Studies. She is a researcher, film programmer and screenwriter. She has participated in books such as The newest chilean cinema and Film on the faultline. Since 2015 she has worked at in FIDOCS, and in 2019 became director of the festival.
