Synopsis

My grandfather, married for 57 years in conservative Costa Rica, died in a house fire. After this tragic event my father revealed that, just like myself, my grandfather was gay. Motivated by this discovery, my father and I revisit my grandfather’s life, while discovering ourselves in the process.

  Andrés Madrigal, a queer Costa Rican filmmaker, directed the short film “Ruega Por Nosotros”, which was selected at the Ícaro Festival, Reeling, and Taiwan Queer Film Festival. He also co-directed the short documentary “Yo soy de allá”, which was nominated at the Havana Festival.

  Sofía is a costarrican queer and feminist creative producer. Graduate from honors from the UCR in audiovisual producing and strategic communication, her graduation thesis focused on impact campaigns in latam. She was selected as an emerging filmmaking talent in Ícaro 2020 and Málaga Talent 2022.

  Producer

  Central American filmmaker with a degree in Communication from Rafael Landívar University (Guatemala) and a Director of Photography graduated from the XIX generation of EICTV (Cuba), where he holds the position of Head of the Photography Department.
