Synopsis

Women in prison reconstruct their experience of motherhood through videos and photographs captured with their forbidden cell phones while serving their sentences. Malqueridas reflects on motherhood’s severity when faced with confinement and the loss of affection.

  Director

  She directed the short films Descansa, Zulema (2013), awarded at FEMCINE; Sigo acá (2017), awarded at Cine Las Américas and MiradasDoc; and has just premiered Ninguna estrella at FICVALDIVIA and RIDM. She is editing her first feature film, Malqueridas, recognized at Visions du Réel and Cannes Docs.

  Producer

  Director and producer of award-winning documentaries such as Allende mi abuelo Allende, Cielo, Haydee y el pez volador, 74m2, Frontera, among others. Professor at the University of Chile and the Catholic University of Chile. Member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences AMPAS.

  Founder and producer of Dirk Manthey Film, he has been in charge of executive producing and post-production supervising for fiction and documentary films like No Hard Feelings (2019), Teddy Award Berlinale 2020, Another Reality (2019), Semaine de la Critique, Locarno Film Festival, among others.
