The <strong>five selected<\/strong> filmmakers will participate in the workshop led by <strong>Bruni Burres<\/strong>, Consultant of the <strong>Documentary Film Program of the Sundance Institute<\/strong>, and <strong>Paola Castillo<\/strong><strong>, Executive Director of the Chilean Documentary Corporation CCDoc.<\/strong> The workshop will last two days, and will also include opportunities for one-on-one meetings, participation in industry activities, and networking at <strong>Conecta.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Twenty applications<\/strong> were received for the <strong>Connect with the Roots<\/strong> workshop, from which <strong>five projects from five Latin American countries<\/strong> were finally selected: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Mexico. The <strong>9th Meeting of the International Documentary Film Industry<\/strong> features a diverse program aimed at promoting the development and international presence of various documentary projects. As a result, this year, <strong>332 applications<\/strong> from <strong>18 countries<\/strong> were received, and the event will feature a broad and diverse representation of the industry, with participants and guests from a total of <strong>28 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udfac <strong><ins datetime=\"2024-11-22T13:05:23+00:00\">The selected projects are:<\/ins><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Borges do Sacramento<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>Anna Borges do Sacramento<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nAnna Borges do Sacramento fought for her freedom in 18th-century Brazil. Her story comes to light thanks to a group of Afro-Brazilian women.<\/p>\n<p>Director: A\u00edda Esther Bueno Sarduy<br \/>\nProduction: Rafael Sampaio and Wendy P. Espinal<br \/>\nCountry: Brazil, Spain<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grietas<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong>Cracks<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nAfter 25 years, I return to my community, where I suffered trauma. I recount my childhood and the stalking of a vampire during Fujimori&#39;s dictatorship.<\/p>\n<p>Director: Alberto Flores Vilca<br \/>\nProducer: Walter Manrique Cervantes<br \/>\nCountry: Peru<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Comunidad del Condenado<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>The Community of the Condemned<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nAn elderly man is ostracized by his community, accused of being condemned.
