This workshop is designed for filmmakers from Indigenous or Afro-descendant Latin American communities with single projects in the development stage or early production phase. The five selected<\/strong> filmmakers will participate in the workshop led by Bruni Burres<\/strong>, Consultant of the Documentary Film Program of the Sundance Institute<\/strong>, and Paola Castillo<\/strong>, Executive Director of the Chilean Documentary Corporation CCDoc.<\/strong> The workshop will last two days, and will also include opportunities for one-on-one meetings, participation in industry activities, and networking at Conecta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Twenty applications<\/strong> were received for the Connect with the Roots<\/strong> workshop, from which five projects from five Latin American countries<\/strong> were finally selected: Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Mexico. The 9th Meeting of the International Documentary Film Industry<\/strong> features a diverse program aimed at promoting the development and international presence of various documentary projects. As a result, this year, 332 applications<\/strong> from 18 countries<\/strong> were received, and the event will feature a broad and diverse representation of the industry, with participants and guests from a total of 28 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n
