For the third year, <strong>Conecta<\/strong> includes the mentorship of <strong>Isabel Arrate<\/strong>, Executive Director of the <strong>IDFA<\/strong> Bertha Fund, who will guide and support the selected projects during their early stages. Participants will take part in a two-day workshop, as well as one-on-one meetings and opportunities to join other industry and networking activities.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the workshop received <strong>59 applications<\/strong> from <strong>10 Latin American countries,<\/strong> from which <strong>six projects were selected,<\/strong> <strong>representing four countries: Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala, and Chile.<\/strong> The Funding and Market Application Workshop is one of the various workshops and activities organized by Conecta to strengthen documentary projects and expand their international presence. For the <strong>9th Meeting of the International Documentary Film Industry<\/strong>, a total of <strong>332 applications<\/strong> from <strong>18 countries<\/strong> were received. Together with international guests, this event brings together <strong>representatives from <\/strong><strong>28 countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\ud83c\udfac <strong><ins datetime=\"2024-11-22T13:25:14+00:00\">The selected projects are:<\/ins><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bad Light<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>Bad Light<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nA young Indigenous gay man explores his identity through dance in Catamarca, facing the legendary\u00a0luz mala\u00a0that challenges his freedom and heritage.<\/p>\n<p>Director: Paula Martel<br \/>\nProduction: Francisco Novick, Paula Martel<br \/>\nCountry: Argentina<\/p>\n<p><strong>El Silencio de los Tel\u00e9fonos<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>The Silence of Telephones<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nA young filmmaker returns to Chile to confront the silences that distance him from his family, shaped by the military past of one of its members.<\/p>\n<p>Director: Christian Sinclair Garmendia<br \/>\nProduction: David Guzm\u00e1n Storey<br \/>\nCountry: Chile<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Ni\u00f1ita<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><em>The little girl<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nRoc\u00edo and Andr\u00e9s are the parents of\u00a0The Little Girl, a rag doll.
