Conecta 2024 Awards

From December 10 to 13, 2024, the 9th edition of Conecta, the International Documentary Industry Meeting, will be held in Santiago, Chile. As every year, Conecta will present a series of awards or recognitions, thanks to the invaluable support of its close collaborators and partnerships. Some of these awards, for which selected projects are eligible, include:

IDA Award
Two projects by Latin American filmmakers in the development stage will be awarded a $2,500 incentive from the IDA Funds team and a one-year membership to IDA Doc Maker.

ADOC Award
A project in development will receive a two-session mentorship led by a member of the Chilean Documentary Filmmakers Association (ADOC). The mentorship content will depend on the winning project’s specific characteristics.

Cannes Doc Award
A project in the editing stage will be awarded two accreditations to Marché du Film to participate in Cannes Docs 2025 as a «Spotlighted Project.» This is for projects selected in Connect with Distribution or Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta.

Cineteca Nacional Award
This award includes the production of one minute of royalty-free archival footage at the Cineteca Nacional de Chile’s digital laboratory, mastering, DCP conforming, and one DCP projection test in a movie theater. It is for projects selected in Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta.

DocsMX Award
A project in the development, production, or editing stage from Conecta will be selected to participate in the activities of its DocsLAB 2025 edition.

DocSP Award
A project in development or production with international potential for co-production with Brazil will be selected to participate in business rounds and meetings with industry representatives within the framework of DOCSP 2025.

Encuentros Australes Award
A Latin American project in development will be awarded two industry accreditations for FICValdivia. These accreditations will grant access to FICValdivia’s activities and films, as well as participation in Cine Chileno del Futuro Asociatividad.

Mediocielo Films Award
The production company and training hub will award a documentary in an advanced stage of production or editing with an editing consultancy.

FIDOCS First Cut Award
This award consists of a cash prize of USD 1,500 for unrestricted use to complete the film.

Sheffield DocFest Award
The award consists of two festival passes for a project in the development or production stage. Please note: The award does not guarantee selection for the MeetMarket. If you wish to participate in the MeetMarket, you may apply.

SONAMOS Award
Three days of 5.1 sound mixing at SONAMOS studio, equivalent to USD 3,000, to be executed during 2025.

The Whickers Award
A £3,000 (three thousand pounds) incentive will be awarded to a director of a first feature documentary project in development, participating in The Whickers Pitch at Conecta.

Documenta Sur Award
Selection of a Chilean project in development from a region other than the Metropolitan Region to participate in the training and advisory activities of Documenta Sur in 2025.

Albatros Post Award
The post-production company will award a project in the editing or post-production stage with the following services: professional Quality Check using specialized software; creation of an IMF (Interoperable Master Format), a digital master for film preservation; and DCP formatting for theatrical exhibition.

Sunny Side of the Doc Award
The award includes two free accreditations for Sunny Side of the Doc, held from June 23 to 26 in La Rochelle, France, along with free participation in one of the seven pitching sessions.
