The VIII Edition of Conecta will be held from December 12 to 15, 2023, in a hybrid format. “Conecta is a space for meeting and exchange between Latin American documentary filmmakers and industry representatives from around the world,» says Diego Pino, Executive Director of the Chilean Corporation of Documentary, organizer of Conecta.

Until Monday, August 14, 2023, it will be possible to apply to participate in the different workshops dedicated to professionals of the sector, which will be entirely on-site and will have tutors of the international level. In the current edition, the call is exclusively for participation in the Conecta workshops.

«Once again, we want to offer workshops that will serve as an impetus for projects in all stages of development — from project conception and the much-needed search for funds to the ideation of an impact campaign that propels it beyond the movie theaters. In addition, for the third year, we will have a workshop to work with filmmakers from indigenous peoples or first nations,» says Diego Pino, Executive Director of the Chilean Corporation of Documentary, organizer of Conecta.

In addition, the selected accredited participants will be able to participate in all the activities of the event: individual meetings, who’s who, workshops, specialized panels, and networking activities.

«We invite documentary filmmakers from all Latin America to apply to Conecta’s workshops, which are designed not only as training and learning opportunities but as a platform for the internationalization of Latin-American documentary,» points out Diego Pino.

Projects at the beginning of their development, which are selected, may be chosen to participate in The Whickers Pitch, a British fund that offers a prize of three thousand pounds sterling to the winning project for free disposition. The event organization will handle the selection to participate in Pitch The Whickers.

There is no cost to apply for projects, and the call for workshops will be open until Monday, August 14, 2023, at 23:59 Santiago de Chile time (GMT-4).
