Documentary Cinema Comes to Ñuñoa!

Pirópolis, a documentary directed by Chilean filmmaker Nicolás Molina, will have a free open-air screening on Thursday, December 12 at 8:45 pm at the Ramón Cruz Park (Villa Frei), located at the corner of Ramón Cruz and Irarrázaval Avenue, in the Ñuñoa commune.

The documentary immerses us in the fiery port city of Valparaíso, where Pompe France, a precarious volunteer fire company with diplomatic ties to France, is forced to challenge its status quo. Amid forest fires that threaten to spread to the city and violent protests over the political and social crisis experienced in the 2019 outbreak, the brigade will have to accept the inclusion of women in their environment and face the departure of their captain.

This activity is part of the initiatives of the 9th International Documentary Industry Meeting, an event that brings together producers, sales agents, distributors, exhibitors, financiers, and leading figures from the most important markets and festivals around the world. This year, it will be held from December 10 to 13 in Santiago, Chile, and will feature over 40 projects, as well as multiple guests and documentary filmmakers from 28 countries.
