A minimum of six feature-length documentaries or non-fiction films by Chilean and Latin American directors/producers who are currently in the editing stage (from the first cut to the final editing stage) will be selected.

The projects will participate in an initial phase of personalized consulting by professionals in editing, directing, post-production, sales, distribution, and exhibition, among others, according to the needs and requirements of each work. Following this stage, each filmmaker will have one month to present a new version of the project’s cut during a second screening stage, which will involve a commission of prominent national and international professionals in the audiovisual area. In addition, those selected will participate in individual meetings with various industry agents attending the Conecta event.

«For a project in the editing and completion stage, it is increasingly essential to feel supported and to seek that last push to the finish. We are convinced that our Docs in Progress has become both a place of sensitive accompaniment and a platform for internationalizing documentaries from our region,» says Diego Pino, Executive Director of the Chilean Documentary Corporation, organizer of Conecta.

FIDOCS also highlights the importance of this type of event for the national and Latin American audiovisual sector: «For the third year, our alliance is stronger than ever, and we are happy to see the good results we have achieved. It fills us with pride to see that projects from previous years are being premiered, coming to light. It is very enriching to realize how the Docs in Progress experience really made a difference,» says Marcela Santibañez, industry director of FIDOCS.
