Eight projects selected for the Conecta with the Series Workshop in Santiago, Chile

For the first time at Conecta, in collaboration with CNTV, this section will be held, where five documentary series projects will have a space for collective development with the participation of Sergio Nakasone as tutor, vice president of unscripted content production at Warner Bros Discovery.
The projects selected for the Connect with Your Roots Workshop section are:

FOREMOTHERS
Country: Chile

Storyline: FOREMOTHERS is a series that reviews Chilean history from the perspective of Chilean women’s political and social processes. Five actresses guided by research, expert testimony, and archival material, immerse us in the lives of pioneering women who challenged norms and built a path toward equality.

Saving Patagonia

Storyline: In Patagonia’s Torres del Paine, one of the planet’s last wild frontiers, humans and nature confront each other in a fragile balance. Instinto de Conservación reveals the scientific, emotional, and cultural battles to preserve a paradise at risk.

Storyline: Orietta, Anielle, Cecilia y Natalia fight for the latin women rights to a non violence life. They face major obstacles including threats to their lives, but nothing stops them in their rebellion against a system that attacks them and leaves them unprotected, as it does also to all woman in this continent.

Storyline: The climb to the summit of Mount Manaslu in Nepal will be an immense challenge for Ana Lia and Agustín, who are seeking to conquer their first eight-thousander and rewrite the history of indigenous and Aymara mountaineering in Latin America.

SAVAGE

Víctor Saldaño vs US
Country: Argentina

Storyline: A renowned YouTuber and a team of podcasters investigate the death sentence imposed on Argentine immigrant Víctor Saldaño, who has been awaiting execution for three decades in Texas.
At the same time, someone plays him in a speculative documentary about racism and justice, imagining the freedom he will never have.

About Conecta
Conecta is an international documentary industry event aimed at Latin American producers and filmmakers with documentary projects in development, editing, post-production, or completed but not yet premiered.
The meeting brings together national and international industry professionals, including representatives from funds, markets, and festivals; distributors, sales agents, exhibitors; as well as platform and television programmers, and producers.
