Conecta Awards 2023

From December 12 to 15, 2023, the VIII edition of Conecta, International Documentary Industry Meeting, will be held in Santiago, Chile. As every year, Conecta will present a series of awards or recognitions, thanks to the invaluable contribution of its closest collaborators and alliances. Some of these awards, to which the selected projects are eligible, are:

The Whickers Award
This award consists of the participation in the Pitching The Whickers, which will grant an incentive to one of the participating projects consisting of 3,000 pounds sterling (three thousand pounds sterling), which will be given to the director of the work. For first works in the development stage.

Cannes Doc Award

One project will be awarded 2 Marché du Film accreditations to participate in Cannes Doc 2024 and other market activities. For projects selected for Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta.

Sheffield DocFest Award
The award consists of 2 passes to the festival for a project in development, or production. Please note: the award does not mean that the project is selected for the MeetMarket. The project may still apply for selection.

DocsMX Award

The Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival DocsMX will select a Conecta project to integrate one of the industry activities of its 2024 edition. For projects in development, production or editing stage.

DocSP Award
It consists of the selection of a Chilean project with international co-production potential for co-production rounds with Brazil within the framework of DOCSP 2024. The Chilean project will have an agenda of meetings with 4 Brazilian production companies with co-production potential, and 2 Brazilian players.

Bolivia Lab Award
Consists of the direct selection of a project in development in search of an international co-producer to participate in the Bolivia Lab 2024 «Cinema of the Future» Co-production Pitch Rally.

DocMontevideo Award
The award will consist of a consultancy for a project in development, production or editing stage, and two meetings with industry agents to be defined after the consultancy, according to the needs detected.

Cineteca Nacional Award

The award considers the services of 1 minute of royalty-free archival footage, Mastering, DCP conforming, DCP test screening in a movie theater. For projects selected in Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta.

Mediocielo Films Award
The production company and training hub will award a documentary at an advanced stage of production or editing with two consultancies: one in editing and the other in content. The latter will provide keys for the design of the film’s communication packaging. There will be three online sessions lasting two hours each. Editing advisor: Marcel Beltrán. Cuban filmmaker, editor and documentary expert. Professor at EICTV and international advisor. Content advisor: Paula Gastaud. Producer, international consultant and expert in streaming distribution with more than 15 years of experience in sales for the international market.

FIDOCS First Cut Award
Cash prize of USD $1500 freely available for the completion of the film. For projects selected in the Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta.

R2MEDIA Award

The audiovisual archiving agency will award a work in development with a search consultancy, file location and respective image rights.

SONAMOS Award
Consists of three days of 5.1 sound mixing in SONAMOS studio. Equivalent to USD 3,000, to be carried out during the year 2024.

ADOC Award
A project in development of the Conecta Workshops will be awarded, with a two-day mentoring by two ADOC members, the Association of Documentalists of Chile, and will focus on aspects of the development stage according to the particular characteristics of the winning project.
