Synopsis

Hijos is built around the passage of time, with images and sounds that embody a memory that ranges from the historical to the intimate, using cinema as a way of capturing time, and as a way of evoking childhood memories that show the desolation left by the military dictatorship in Chile society and its scars today.

  Francisco López Ballo was born in Santiago, Chile in 1973. He studied audiovisual communication in Chile. He directed music videos for local singers. In 1997, he traveled to Paris, France to study film at FEMIS. “The Machine Gun Woman” is his first feature documentary, in co-production with France.

  Lise Bouzidi Vega. Producer at the Tierra y Libertad para Arauco Association (France). In the 1970s, she worked at Les Films du Nidal (France), participating as a screenwriter and editor on the film «»Les Ambassadeurs»» by Nacer Ktari. Activist for the defense of Mapuche political prisoners in Chile.
