The Chilean National Film Archive, part of the National Cultural Heritage Service, preserves, restores, and disseminates Chilean and Latin American audiovisual heritage. It conserves thousands of films, documents, and archives, promotes research, training, and exhibitions, and encourages public access to the country’s audiovisual memory through its cinema and digital platforms.
Marcelo Morales Cortés
Film journalist and researcher. In 2009, he created the website Cinechile.cl, a fundamental platform for studies on Chilean cinema. He is co-author of the book “Sucesos recobrados (1897-1932)” (Recovered Events (1897-1932)). He was in charge of the digital archive and documentation of the Chilean National Film Archive. In July 2022, he became director of this institution.
