Synopsis
Clara (25), a young shaman in spiritual development, returns to Marajó Island, in Brazilian Amazon, to fulfill her spiritual duties within the pajelança cabocla tradition. Accompanied by a group of apprentice shamans, Clara goes through a moment of doubt and longing on the eve of her coronation as a shaman.
Director
Rodrigo Antonio is a filmmaker and historian, with a master’s degree in arts. He has directed the short films Mis santos saludan a los tuyos (2021) and Casa de Luiza (2023). He is currently Director of Training at the Taturana Institute and is directing his first feature film, The young shaman.
Producer
Carlos Barbosa is currently a managing partner of Leão do Norte Produções, one of the coordinators of Matapi – Audiovisual Market of the Amazons. Most recently, he was the executive producer of the TV film “Pés de Peixe” and he is also producer of the documentary series “Amazônia Panc”.
