Synopsis

Through the energy of the wind, where sound waves travel, we will meet Amanda, a Mayan journalist who fights for freedom of expression for indigenous communities in Guatemala.

Wanda López Trelles

Wanda López Trelles was born in Buenos Aires in 1984, when democracy returned to Argentina.
She is an audiovisual and multimedia producer. She makes auteur films and transdisciplinary artistic projects involving research and creation in various contexts and communities in Latin America, focusing on human rights from a gender and decolonial perspective. Founder of Wayusa Productora. Co-director of the FICCE Festival.

Carolina Arias Ortiz

Carolina Arias Ortiz is a Costa Rican anthropologist and filmmaker. Her first feature film, Objetos rebeldes, premiered at IDFA 2020 and received multiple awards. Her most recent project, Como llama encendida en noche oscura (Like a Flame in the Dark Night), received the IDFA Bertha Fund for development, participated in the IDFA Project Space for Development in 2023, and was awarded funding from Costa Rica’s national film fund, FAUNO. This year, she is part of the EURODOC program.

Wayusa Productora
is an audiovisual production company based in Buenos Aires, created in 2010 by Wanda López Trelles.
It produces auteur films and artistic projects with a social focus rooted in the commitment to and vindication of human rights, especially ethnographic documentaries, arthouse films, and collaborative performing arts that transform.

is an audiovisual production company in Costa Rica created by Carolina Arias Ortiz.
