Synopsis
Waldirene is a retired manicurist facing the challenges of old age. In 1971, she underwent the first gender reassignment surgery in Latin America. After decades of silence, Wal tells how her body became a battleground between a visionary surgeon, the Brazilian military dictatorship, and her own dreams.

Rafael is a brazilian film director. He graduated in Film Direction from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Italian National Film School) in Rome. He directed seven short films, which have been screened at many festivals around the world.

Luíza is a brazilian film and theater director. Her short film MONA (Brazil, 2019), about a group of transgender women living in São Paulo streets, was selected for festivals such as the Uruguay International Film Festival and KINOFORUM.

Ana Freitas is a Creative Producer with over 10 years of experience. Currently, as head of Piloto’s Entertainment Department, Ana is leading the production of the film, focusing on partnerships and resources.
