La Madre
La Madre seeks to highlight shared stories and struggles through the voices of women and sexual dissidences, aiming for a more just, empathetic, and liberated society. Travesía Travesti (2021), Los niños sin tierra (2025), and Angelitas (2026) are some of the titles in our portfolio.
Synopsis
In France, Juan wakes up from a nightmare in which he sees a seriously injured woman, perhaps his biological mother. Juan embarks on a journey to his homeland, the Mapuche territory in southern Chile, to try to understand his dreams, his adoption, to try to distinguish truth from lies, to find his lost land.
Director
Psychologist and filmmaker. After working with minors in La Araucanía, he studied film in France. His documentary The Burn won several awards in 2010. In 2017, he co-wrote Oblivion Verses, which was awarded in Venice. His second documentary, The Dreams of the Castle, was awarded at Valdivia in 2018.
Producer
Executive producer. In 2019, she founded La Madre, a production company focused on women’s issues and sexual dissidence. Executive producer of “Travesti Odyssey”, “Landless Children”, “It’s Like Singing Happy Birthday and Not Eating Cake”, “Angelitas”, among others.
