Ambulante is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting documentary film as a means of social and cultural transformation in Mexico and Latin America. Founded in 2005 by Gael García Bernal, Diego Luna, and Elena Fortes, and currently directed by Itzel Martínez del Cañizo, Ambulante seeks to create collective spaces for encounter, collaboration, and collective action to build alternatives for the world through documentary film.
Itzel Martínez del Cañizo
Filmmaker, researcher, and film programmer; Master’s degree in Art History in the field of Film Studies (UNAM). General Director of Ambulante and member of the programming team since 2016. Founder of BorDocs Documentary Forum (2003-2013) on the northern border and jury member at multiple international film festivals.
