Cat Flap Media was founded in 2015 by Jane Ray for documentary production, training, consultancy and compliance. The concept is that a cat flap is a small door that opens onto a big world. It has co produced multi award winning documentaries such as Runa Simi (Tribeca 2025) Is There Anybody Out There (Sundance 2023) and About A Hero (IDFA Opening Night film 2024).
Mike Thomson
Mike joins Cat Flap after a successful career at the BBC as a foreign correspondent and documentary filmmaker for over 40 years. He has covered numerous wars and conducted undercover journalistic investigations. For over a decade, he presented the acclaimed BBC investigative documentary series Document. He has won multiple awards, including the Prix Bayeux Calvados Awards for “War Correspondent of the Year 2008” and “Journalist of the Year” at the Sony Radio Academy Awards, and is also a respected documentary filmmaker. After working at the BBC, he joined Cat Flap Media.
