Synopsis

Owner of Nothing portrays Velas, a miner and single father from Quime, Bolivia, who dreams of redeeming himself by imitating “El Puma” Rodríguez on a reality TV show. While working in a mine at an altitude of 5,000 meters and caring for his daughter, he struggles with alcoholism and frustration. The film is an intimate portrait of the struggle between failure, hope, and the desire to transform one’s life through art.

Agustin Lago

Agustín Lagos, born in Buenos Aires and raised in Bella Vista, began his television career at age 15. He has produced programs such as “Policías en Acción” and documentaries for public television, exploring social and cultural issues. He lives in Catamarca, where he writes and directs award-winning short films at independent festivals. His work reflects a profound insight into South American identity.

Luis Piccinali

Luis María Piccinali was born in Buenos Aires in 1980 and studied film and television. He has worked as a news producer on programs such as “Calles Salvajes” and documentaries for Canal Encuentro. He is also a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to painting, documentary film, music videos, and video art. His travels inspire his observational short films about South America.

Nicolás Mikey

Nicolás Mikey is a producer born in 1984 and founder of Palta Films SRL. He has produced documentaries such as “Un suelo lejano” and “Crónicas de un exilio,” the latter of which has won multiple awards at international festivals. He also co-produced the fictional web series “El sueño del pibe,” selected for Seriesmania 2020. His work focuses on original content with a strong documentary approach.

Hernán Figueroa Galperin

Hernán Figueroa Galperin is an Argentine-Polish editor and audiovisual producer with over 15 years of experience in post-production, including supervision for Netflix, HBO, and Disney series. He is a founding member of the Argentine Association of Audiovisual Editors (EDA) and founder of Palta Films SRL and Archipiélago Post SRL. He has edited documentaries for film and television and is passionate about telling stories that are rarely shown and have a social perspective.

Palta Films
Palta Films is an Argentine production company founded in 2013, dedicated to developing fiction and documentary content with original perspectives. Among its projects are Un suelo lejano, Crónicas de un exilio, El sueño del pibe, and Las vidas de un vestido. They are currently working on La ley del lobisón (post-production), Dueño de nada, and Descarga a tierra (in development), among others.
