Synopsis
In the 90s, after a wild ride cashing in big in Miami with their friends, Máxima, an Argentinean queer sex worker, lands in the Big City with their camcorder. Twenty-three years later, marginalized and battling alcoholism, they reconnects with their trans Latinx sisters and joins their fierce fight for their dignity and labor rights.
Director
Nicole Costa is a Chilean filmmaker and producer based in New York. In 2018, she premiered the short film Danger & Alone at SANFIC. Her first feature-length documentary, El viaje de Monalisa (2019), premiered at DOC NYC and IDFA; and was chosen as the Best Latinx Film in the US by Cinema Tropical.
Producer
Daniela Camino is a filmmaker and producer, co-founder of Mimbre Films. She has produced award-winning works that have premiered at important international film festivals such as AliEN0089, El viaje de Monalisa and Volver a casa MADRE VR, among others.
