Synopsis
A silent film from 1925’s Bolivia showed a forbidden love: She was a white landowner, he an Aymara servant. For that reason, the film was censored and burned. Today, we do a journey searching for traces of this story. Is the ancient tale of an impossible love still relevant today?
Director
Miguel Hilari (1985) is a Bolivian filmmaker of Aymara and German descent. His practice is concerned with memory, migration and urbanization processes. His films have been exhibited and awarded at national and international venues. He lives and works in La Paz.
Producer
Nayme Bustillos, a producer and audiovisual filmmaker, primarily works in independent cinema. Her credits include films by Jorge Sanjinés and Verónica Córdova. She collaborated on the restoration of the silent film Wara Wara from 1929. She resides in the city of El Alto, Bolivia.
