Synopsis
While excavating the facilities of DOI-Codi, the main apparatus of repression during Brazil’s military dictatorship, a group of archaeologists unearth some of the darkest chapters in the country’s history. Interwoven with the excavations, archives and silenced stories evoke the political memory of the era and the dreams of a nation.
Director
Carla Gallo is a director and screenwriter of documentaries for TV and cinema. She directed SOMEONE ELSE’S ABORTION (It’s All True Festival, BBC Channel) and GIRLS (ESPN Channel). She was a script consultant for the films YOUR TURN (Berlin Festival) and BOB CUSPE (Annecy/Ottawa Festival).
Producer
Rafaella Costa is a producer in Brazil. She produced MY NAME IS BAGHDAD (2020), Best Film at Berlinale Generation 14plus, and POWER ALLEY (2023), premiered at Cannes Critics’ Week and winner of the Fipresci Award. She also works as an executive producer of series for global streaming platforms.
