Synopsis
At Copacabana’s Fishing Colony, a resistance enclave in Brazil’s most iconic neighborhood, time folds. “Still Marimbás” returns where Vladimir Herzog filmed a pioneering documentary in 1963. Sixty years later, it finds echoes in the new marimbás. An essay on listening, endurance, and Brazil’s tragic rhymes.

Filmmaker and documentary editor with a Master’s from Doc Nomads (2020). His shorts screened at Camden IFF, Dok Leipzig, and Palm Springs. Adeus aos Livros won the Primeiro Olhar at Viana (2020). Founder of ¡Para Vigo Me Voy!, he’s editing his first feature, Still Marimbás (2026).
Director
Director, cinematographer, and screenwriter with a degree in Film from PUC-Rio. Working in audiovisual since 2008, with experience in features and productions for Globo and MTV Brasil. Co-founder of ¡Para Vigo Me Voy!. His work explores memory, territory, and listening with experimental narratives.
Producer
Screenwriter and producer with a degree in Communication and Film. Participated in Locarno Match Me 2019 and Berlinale Talents 2020. Credits include La Vida Son Dos Días (FID Marseille 2022), Esqui (Berlinale Forum 2021), Los Conductos (Berlinale Encounters 2020) and Animal Indirecto (IFFR 2019).
