Synopsis
Chaska is a Quechua radio speaker and successful Tiktoker, so when her twin daughters decide to become influencers, she gets it. Meanwhile, grandma Santusa, a shepherd and weaver, tries her luck in the growing Quechua film industry. Quechua is all the rage! An illness in the family and the contradictions of a racist media system get in the way.
Director / Producer
Originally an anthropologist and historian, Ximena took a turn towards filmmaking thanks to a scholarship at New York University’ Tisch School. She directed the documentary shorts «Los Andes School» (2013), «Among Us» (2018), «Rimana Wasi» (2022, awarded at Locarno FF), and «Sen Hasiora» (in post).
Producer
Producer, director, programmer, and cultural manager. She did a masters in Film Curating Studies at Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Spain. She produced and premiered five feature films, including «Night has come» (dir. Paolo Tizon), winner of the Proxima Special Jury Prize at Karlovy Vary 2024.
