Synopsis
Four women search for their sons, who have disappeared in Mexico, while a committee of linguists searches for a word missing from the dictionary. The inventory interweaves three narrative lines, questioning the ways in which language affects the legal, affective, media and collective imaginary spheres of forced disappearance in Mexico.
Director
Ilana Coleman is a Mexican filmmaker. She was named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Film” by Filmmaker Magazine and is a BAVC MediaMaker Fellow for 2024. She is a 2017 and 2021 Mexican National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) Young Creators Fellow.
Producer
Natalia Nava is a Mexican producer. She started her path in production at Woo Films, working for projects like Julio Hernández Cordón´s BUY ME A GUN (Cannes, 2018). Most recently she was also part of the production team for Juan P.Gonzalez’s DOS ESTACIONES.
Producer
Ivonne Villalón is a Mexican impact producer, and storyteller with more than 10 years working at the intersection of film and social justice. She has worked in programming at MoMA´s Film Department. As creative strategist, she has designed artistic campaigns with civil society organizations.
