Synopsis
Inés, a 12-year-old girl from Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca, divides her time between school, urban dance classes, and helping with the family funeral home. But when her uncle Lásaro, a forensic doctor, gets called for a post-mortem service, she drops whatever she’s doing to join him—as long as she’s finished her homework.
Director
Pablo Vaca, a graduate of Emerson College in Narrative Fiction Directing, joined the development team at Vice Studios LatAm, working on fiction and documentary projects. He is currently researching a Netflix documentary on Juan Gabriel. Forensita marks his directorial debut.
Producer
Isabel Vaca studied Communication Science, specializing in Cinematography. Right now, she is dedicated to his film production company Caribou Visual Studio. Her first feature film, “Becoming”, premiered at Hot Docs 2021. Her short film SPINNING, had its World Premiere at the Tribeca 2023.
Producer
Arturo studied screenwriting at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. He worked at Piano Producciones and led the Audiovisual Department at IMCINE. He now directs his production company, Caribou Visual Studio, premiering Becoming at Hot Docs 2021 and the short SPINNING at Tribeca 2023.
