Synopsis

In 1895, during the Selk’nam genocide, 165 indigenous people were captured in Tierra del Fuego, and their children were given to settlers as servants. Among them was the great-grandfather of Fernanda Olivares, who, a century later, motivated by her painful family history, returns to the ancestral territory to prove that they are not extinct.

    Journalist from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. “Returning Where I Have Never Been” is her debut as a documentary filmmaker. She entered the world of cinema after developing her career in research and journalistic production of documentary series for Chilean TV stations.

    Filmmaker experienced in directing and producing fiction and documentary shorts like “The Mandala Roulette,” “Salve Regina,” “The Runner,” “Interlude,” and “Our Lady of Candelaria de Caspana,” among others. He is also an Architect from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
