Synopsis
Green Kids is a rap group formed in Japan by young Brazilians, children of dekasseguis, who grew up facing social stigmas and xenophobia. By challenging prejudices, they create rap at the intersection of being Latino and Japanese. They are factory workers who don’t yet make a living from music. They want to change their lives and go to Brazil with their rap.
Director
Pedro Nishi is a director and screenwriter whose films have won over twenty awards and have been featured on VOD platforms, television channels, and at numerous festivals around the world, including the Cinelatino – Toulouse, the Brasilia Festival, and the Nuevo CineLatino-Cuba. Green Kids is his first feature film.
Producer
João is a researcher and producer. He is a partner at the production company A Flor e a Náusea. He has produced short films, feature films, and documentary series. He works as an archival material researcher. His first feature film as a director, Behind Closed Doors, premiered internationally at IDFA.
Producer
Lucas is a cinematographer, producer, and post-supervisor. He is the co-owner of the production company Terra Estranha. In addition to collaborating with development, research, and shooting most of Nishi’s filmography, he has also worked on the post-production team for series on channels such as HBO, Canal Brasil, among others.
