Synopsis
A filmmaker, mourning her mother’s death, returns to her Peruvian hometown to reconstruct her mother’s life through cinematic scenes. While turning the barrio into a cinematic playground, the fragmented memories of neighbors, relatives, and her mother’s friends create a filmic memoir that profoundly explores grief and letting go.
Director and Producer
Karoline Pelikan is a documentary filmmaker and activist who crafts intimate portraits through participatory filmmaking. Her films October 1st and Conexión: Huachuma, along with her feminist film collective EmpoderArse, have earned recognition from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture and acclaimed festivals.
Producer
Carolina Denegri is a Peruvian producer with experience in documentary, fiction, and animation. Her portfolio includes El Limpiador (60th San Sebastián International Film Festival – Special Jury Mention) and El Soñador (66th Berlin International Film Festival).
