Amilcar Films
Amilcar Films is a production company dedicated to fiction, documentary, and music video projects. They have created promotional content for companies such as Entel, the Tourism Chamber of Colchagua, and Viña Santa Cruz, among others. Currently, they work on their feature film If You Go to Chile, which is in post-production for a 2024 premiere. They are also co-producing the documentary Julio Escámez and developing the documentary series Fotos.
Synopsis
In 2021, northern Chile witnessed an unprecedented migration crisis that made history with the burning of tents and a child’s stroller during the anti-immigrant march in Iquique, whose images circulated worldwide. Through a choral narrative, protagonists and witnesses reveal the harsh migrant reality from Colchane’s border to Iquique and Alto Hospicio.
Co-director
Graduated from Bande À Part film school. His short film This Place (2016) was screened at the Filmoteca Cataluña and the French Institute of Barcelona, and Soterrament (2017) was broadcast on the Spanish channel Betevé. He is currently working on the film Nipon Takes and the documentary series Fotos.
Co-director and Producer
Sebastian, an economist from the University of Chile, has worked as an executive producer for the companies Tercermundo, Glaciar Films, and Amilcar Films, focusing on content development in formats such as documentary series (Nuevo Mundo, Tráfico Ilícito), web series (Nuevo en Casa, 2022), and music videos.
Director of the short film Consagración, finalist at Filma BioBio at CineLebu 2023 festival, and photography director for Catastro de predios, winner of the same competition. He has worked as an executive producer in documentary series and assistant director on various short films and music videos.
